Kristen and her husband Kurt have been married for 18 years. They met as students at Moody Bible Institute where they were both preparing for ministry. Kurt now serves on staff with Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky. Along with their four children, Olivia (16), Drew (14), Ivy (12) and Ellie (10) they live by the family purpose statement: The Sauder family exists to love and honor Jesus Christ by living for His Kingdom and letting our light shine so that others will become fully devoted to Him.

 

Along with her degree in Intercultural Missions from Moody, Kristen’s ministry training includes partnership throughout the years with organizations such as Child Evangelism Fellowship, Children’s Bible Ministry and Inner-city Impact. She has been a featured speaker for Focus on the Family, Bob Russell Ministries, Vicky Courtney, Salem Radio, and Marriage Retreats at Sea among others.

 

Kristen enjoys writing resources that teach women how to study God’s Word on their own. Her unique approach to Bible Study features studying one particular passage one verse, and many times, one word at a time. By drawing out often overlooked truths, God’s Word comes alive and practical applications explode from the text.

 

In spare moments (what are those?) Kristen enjoys bargain shopping (think flea markets, yard sales and the clearance rack at Old Navy) and perusing Better Homes and Gardens. She’s a bookworm and a southern girl at heart. Originally from North Carolina, she now loves life in Kentucky because it’s the northernmost state to serve sweet tea!
